Rooftops of Paris

My favourite image of Paris is any sweeping rooftop image. That infamous panoramic view of haussmann rooftop after haussmann rooftop after haussmann rooftop. It's like a beautiful architectural montage. And when it's bathed in the dusk or dawn sun-light - that is the perfect moment. If only there was a pause button for life...I'd hold it riiiiight THERE!!

Visitors to Paris will scale any height to view the ultimate view of Paris. Sacre Coeur, the Eiffel tower, Tour Montparnasse. But any Paris insider will tell you that many of Paris's most breathtaking views are afforded by private residences, discreetly tucked away in various parts of the city.

At Petite Paris we have many residences with spectacular views that you can revel in anytime of the day from dusk to dawn, without having to wait in long queues.

1. B&B188 - Genevieve's place

Located on the 17th floor of a building located in front of the channel St Martin, your hosts residence is one of the rare parisian homes that every one wants to own because of its remarkable view across Paris. It is the perfect location if you come to paris for your honeymoon, a birthday or an unforgettable moment in a incredible place. From this high and cosy nest, you will witness the spectacular light show across this city from the rising of the sun to the sunset and stars in the night.

2. B&B324 - Odile's Apartment.

A spacious 2 level apartment located in the 15th arrondissement, with an open view of the eiffel tower, the invalides and the Montemartre Sacre Coeur in the distance from the large terrace. In this quaint apartment 2 guest rooms are offered on the second level each with private bathrooms and access to the beautiful terrace and opening onto a private living area just for you.

3. B&B330 - Evelyn's place

The guest bedroom of this cosy apartment is a romantic little cocoon. Located in the attic, directly under the roof and lit by a small window and two roof windows which give you a wonderful sky view. You will have the feeling you are asleep under the stars and have a  picturesque, enchanting view of the rooftops of Paris. It is a peaceful and independent bedroom ideal for couples. Ideally located in the trendy 6th district, you will have the pleasure of meeting an exceptional hostess, who is a Parisian artist famous in all the major arts.

4. B&B335 - Aline's place.

Located on the 7th floor apartment building, Aline offers you a quiet and romantic nest. This guest room, decorated with much taste and refinement, has a large French window opening on a private terrace where you can relax on a deck-chair. In this B&B, you will feel far from the noise of the city although it is right at your doorstep. Aline lives in the 13th district, close to the François Mitterrand library and Cour Saint-Emilion with its fashionable shops and restaurants.
This little terrace is south-west oriented and it is protected by a white and green window blind which gives a mediterranean style to it. This terrace opens onto a garden. The bedroom is therefore completely quiet, only the birds will awake you.

5. B&B301 - Claire's place

This guest room, which offers much privacy, will give you one of the best views of Paris. From your window, oriented to the South, you will discover a large view over Paris including the famous Eiffel Tower. Ideal for a honeymoon or birthday celebration. From your bed you have a view across all of Paris and from the bathroom a view of the Sacre-Coeur Basilica. Other features: coloured lights, subdue lights, private access, breakfasts served in bed but nothing beats the night sky view across the city of lights.

6. B&B104 - Florence's place

The romantic room that Florence offers is in an incredible location. Just behind its vapourous curtains is the most popular french monument: the Eiffel Tower as this B&B sits right on the edge of the Parc du Champs de Mars. Florence is a radio journalist and lives with her son. Passionate about architecture and painting, she will give you good advice for your sightseeing and your evening activities. Located on the first floor with lift in a high typical Haussmann residence built in 1890, Florence's apartment is a little gem as it windows open onto the Eiffel Tower and its gardens.

7. B&B135 - Anne's place.

This B&B is centrally located on the left bank in the 15th arrondissement, in a very lively district where small shopkeepers, bakeries, grocers, restaurants and bars live on in authentic Parisian style. Enjoy breakfast overlooking the tree lined park directly across. Situated on the sixth floor (with lift) of a brick building constructed in 1934, Anne's small residence (53m2) is very bright. It faces a calm, tree-lined park. If you look up you will enjoy a view of the Eiffel tower. The residence has an extremely comfortable ‘family feel’.

To end here is a painting of Parisian Rooftops created by one of our B&B artist hosts.

Bonne journee mes amies xx
